Exquisite bright red Frank Olive Private Collection & One of a Kind, Bowler Style Hat. Crafted in England at Tally Ho. Black Band around Crown with Iridescent Black and Red Feathers. Age: 1970s Label: From My Private Collection Frank Olive. Frank Olive (1929-1995) was a New York based milliner who started making hats during the 1950s on advice given to him by Norman Norell. He initially supplied custom made hats to Chandra and to Saks 5th Avenue, but the costs involved in hand making hats caused him to turn to more cost effective production methods, During the 60s, he supplied hats to fashion houses such as Oscar de la Renta and Pauline Trigere and other Seventh Ave lavels, “From My Private Collection”, was his most expensive line, and I believe that hats with this label were “one of a kind” unique models.
